Meet Mitchell Portnoi & Kyle Reed

MITCHELL H. PORTNOI
MANAGING PARTNER

Mitchell H. Portnoi, a Certified Civil Trial Attorney by the New Jersey Supreme Court, has over 40 years of experience in Civil Litigation and Personal Injury Law. He has secured tens of millions of dollars in settlements and verdicts for seriously injured clients. Licensed in both New York and New Jersey, Mitchell has been recognized as a Super Lawyer for 13 consecutive years.

Mitchell began practicing law in 1985 as a Judicial Law Clerk in Middlesex County, NJ. He worked as an associate at Shevick, Ravich (1986-1989) before opening his private practice in Edison, NJ (1989-1995). He later became a partner at Prince and Portnoi P.C. (1995-2013) and Post Polak (2013-2020). On January 1, 2021, he launched the Law Offices of Mitchell H. Portnoi, which transitioned to Portnoi & Reed, P.C., as of January 1, 2025, in Mountainside, NJ.

An active member of the New Jersey State and Union County Bar Associations, Mitchell has served as Vice Chairman of the Union County Fee Arbitration Association and volunteered with the Middlesex County Attorney Ethics Committee. He has been a dedicated member of the New Jersey Association for Justice for over 35 years, advocating for fair compensation for injury victims.

A Union County resident, Mitchell is married with three daughters and enjoys golf, tennis, skiing, and outdoor activities. He supports charities such as Feeding America, Roots and Wings, NJ Seeds, and the Community Food Bank of Union County.

KYLE S. REED
SHAREHOLDER

Kyle S. Reed, Shareholder, has been an integral part of the firm's growth since its founding in 2021. With a focus on personal injury, workers' compensation, and general litigation, Kyle has contributed significantly to the firm's reputation across New Jersey. In 2024 alone, he helped secure over $1 million in recoveries for the firm's clients—demonstrating his skill and effectiveness as a trial lawyer.

Kyle graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminal Justice from Vermont State University in 2013 and attended the Evening Division at New York Law School, graduating in 2018. While at NYLS, he worked full-time as a paralegal and served as Editor of the New York Law School Law Review. His practice focuses on motor vehicle accidents, slip/trip-and-fall cases, and workers' compensation.

Beyond his legal work, Kyle volunteers for Lunch Break as a Life Skills Coach and is an active member of several professional organizations. He resides in Monmouth County with his wife, Jenna, and their dog, Paco.
